Environmental Program Manager - #1096Houston, TXPosition DescriptionWill oversee and manage the Environmental Program and contract execution at Johnson Space Center (JSC). Management functions include assuring that cost, schedule, and technical objectives of this contract are achieved; managing and reporting on the Contractor's and any subcontractor's activities; communicating with NASA managers, regulatory personnel, and technical personnel; major procurement activities in the acquisition of systems, subsystems, elements of subsystems, and for repair and updating them as required; negotiating credibly and representing NASA as an efficient, effective, and innovative leader in the environmental field. Required Skills5 years continuous work experience as an environmental manager at a large, multi-employer and multi-discipline Federal aerospace (preferred) or commercial manufacturing facility, operating as a large quantity generator of hazardous wastes, and plant operations preferably in an ozone non-attainment area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a must. 15+ years of continuous experience in multiple, major, environmental programs with a demonstrated record of compliance and continual improvement, and recent Texas environmental experience working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), EPA Region VI, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and local regulatory agency laws, standards, and guidance materials preferred. EducationBS Degree in an Environmental Science, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related science degree. Must have a valid license from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or obtain prior to the end of the first year of employment.
