Electrical Power Specialist - #1152

Position Description

Will perform maintenance on Mitsubishi 2033A UPS and Powerware 9315 UPS systems as well as general facilities electrical systems, including removal and replacement of the battery strings. Use of testing equipment and reading of schematics will be necessary to diagnose system failures. May be asked to perform other duties in the related field of knowledge which benefit the Government. Special training will be provided if it is deemed as needed and appropriate.

Required Skills

5 years experience and knowledge of facility power supply and conditioning systems, including emergency backup, in support of computers and other major electronic systems. Knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches in regards to our emergency generators desired. Must be able to use Windows- based software to document activities, track data and evaluate battery conditions including battery histories and component trends. Good verbal/written communication skills needed.

Travel required 50% or more of the time, so must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record. Must be physically able to climb towers/rooftops in excess of 50 feet in height; bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time; lift weights of 50 pounds or more; work in hot, cold, wet or other adverse weather conditions.
