ERT was privileged to once again support the annual Girl Power science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) event hosted by the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). Organizers estimate that 600 children attended this free event held March 12, 2017 in Laurel, Maryland.
Girl Power is focused on educating middle and high school girls about careers in STEM fields. Jointly organized by APL, the Women in Technology of Howard County Tech Council, and the Maryland Space Business Roundtable, the event offers technology workshops, shows, and hands-on activities. Students who visited ERT’s table used their logic and reasoning skills to complete challenging puzzle games.
