ERT on Winning Team for USGS Technical Support Services Contract

June 25, 2010 - On June 1, ERT was awarded the Technical Support Services Contract (TSSC) for the U.S. Geological Survey at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center as a team member of SGT. This effort will provide scientific, engineering, and technical support for data reception, processing, archiving, distribution, and research of remotely sensed data and other forms of geographic information, in support of the National Satellite Land Remote Sensing Data Archive.

As a subcontractor to SGT, ERT will add approximately 70 staff to fulfill 20 percent of the tasking on the contract, which will be performed at the EROS Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. ERT staff will provide support for EROS data center long term archiving of films and digital data, Distributed Active Achieve Center (DAAC) engineering and development, operations and maintenance, and science services.

“This is a great win for ERT. It’s great to go back to the EROS Center after a couple years absence,” said Dr. Jingli Yang, ERT’s CEO. “The contract combines science, IT and engineering services and is a great fit for ERT.”

TSSC has a five-year period of performance which includes all options with a total contract value of $300M.
