ERT is proud to announce that Teresa Fleisher and Dr. Lyon Lanerolle received awards at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Ocean Service (NOS) 2015 Annual Employee Recognition and Awards Ceremony on December 1, 2015. Both Fleisher and Lanerolle support the Office of Coast Survey’s (OCS) Coast Survey Development Lab (CSDL) in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Fleisher, a Science Communications/Website Technician, received the Team Member of the Year Award “for outstanding achievement in supporting property management and in her team approach with administrative assistance across the OCS.” This award recognizes outstanding contributions in support of the NOS mission as well as exceptional efforts to advance Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity. Presented to members of the workforce who are not NOAA Federal employees, the award recognizes contributions as acknowledged by their peers. Fleisher was independently nominated by two of her peers.

Dr. Lanerolle, a Lead Numerical Modeler supporting the CSDL’s Coastal Marine Modeling Branch, was part of a group that received a NOS Peer Recognition Rafting Award for working with the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science/Oxford Lab and the National Weather Service’s Ocean Prediction Center to enable the use of Coast Survey-developed operational forecast systems data to predict the probability of pathogens in various U.S. bays and estuaries
