ERT Appoints New CTO

ERT today announced the appointment of Ron Mahmot as Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Mahmot, who brings over 30 years of mission operations experience at NASA and NOAA, is responsible for leading customer-focused solution development efforts in cooperation with the company’s program managers and subject matter experts.

Mahmot most recently served as NOAA’s division manager for satellite operations and product processing operations at the agency’s Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland.  In addition to managing day-to-day mission operations for NOAA, Ron shared in/led the transition to operations for new missions and systems, such as the Suomi-National Polar-orbiting Partnership, Joint Polar Satellite System-1, and Deep Space Climate Observer.  Prior to NOAA, he spent 20 years at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where he held leadership roles in ground systems development and operations.

Mr. Mahmot earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and George Washington University, respectively.
