ERT Awarded Geostationary Weather Satellite Antenna Systems Support Task

ERT today announced the award of a task order by NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) to provide Tier-3 operational and preventive maintenance support services for the Geostationary Weather Satellite Antenna Systems (GWSAS). Under this contract, ERT will provide operational support and maintenance to supplement existing Tier-1 and -2 support, and will perform preventative maintenance services including upgrades, repairs, and replacements. These services include maintenance of the GWSAS spare parts inventory, tracking of warranties and licenses for all hardware and software, and reporting for the complete set of GWSAS Earth Stations spanning seven NWS sites in the U.S. and one in Guam. The GWSAS award is a task order under NOAA's Professional and Technical Services-Satellite domain contract. Work began in September 2018 and, if all options are exercised, will end in September 2023.

About GWSAS:

Owned and deployed by the NWS, the GWSAS supports the ingest, processing, and dissemination of data products from weather observation instruments onboard NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites - R Series and the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Geostationary Satellites - Himarari 8/9. These data products are primarily used in weather forecasting, supporting the NWS’s mission to save life and property.
