ERT today announced its receipt of a follow-on NOAA contract for Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) United States Mission Control Center (USMCC) Operations, Maintenance, and Technical Support Services. Managed by the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service’s Office of Satellite and Product Operations, this work is primarily performed at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland.
Supporting the SARSAT USMCC mission is a multi-faceted, round-the-clock job. Major activities range from manual entry of beacon registrations and feedback information, to a wide range of information technology services, to 24/7 operations and monitoring support, technical support involving the establishment and maintenance of communications links, security activities to protect the U.S. ground segment, and collaborations with national and international partners and stakeholders.
Awarded as a task order under NOAA’s Professional and Technical Services (ProTech) Satellite Domain contract, the period of performance includes a base year and three option years ending in September 2022.
