ERT is proud to announce our award of the NOAA NESDIS Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OMS) 10-year indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. ERT CEO Dr. Jingli Yang remarked:
We are so thrilled about winning OMS. This contract win will significantly extend our capabilities in satellite ground system engineering, satellite product processing operations and maintenance, and emerging technologies. We look forward to working with NOAA NESDIS for the successful execution of this program.
This IDIQ contract consolidates support for NOAA’s 24×7 legacy and current information technology (IT) satellite ground and product processing systems, which provide critical environmental observations and data to the National Weather Service, other U.S. government agencies, the private sector, and international partners. Under OMS, ERT, leading a team of subcontractors, will operate, maintain, and sustain existing legacy satellite ground systems until the next-generation ground systems and their associated observatory constellations fully transition to operations. ERT will then be responsible for disposing of the replaced systems.
ERT will also help to ensure NOAA’s legacy operations remain available and secure into the future by assisting NOAA in the transition of satellite product processing to a secure Government cloud environment. The cloud solution will meet OMS mission requirements by providing a means to implement approved technology improvements, optimizations, and efficiencies while lowering the total cost of ownership.
The OMS contract has a total ceiling value of $699,600,000. Along with the overall award, ERT has been awarded the first four task orders, each with a 12-month period of performance and four 12-month option periods. ERT will begin phase-in on these tasks on March 29, 2021.
