TESA has been awarded the OSF Automated Fisheries Management Support Systems (AFMSS) task order, a follow-on contract to ERT’s previous AFMSS contract. Under this new task order, TESA will continue to support and improve the National Fishing Permit and Landing Reporting System (NFPLRS)—an automated, highly reliable, user-friendly system that issues roughly 30,000 fishing permits annually.
The mission of the NMFS OSF is to prevent overfishing and rebuild fish stocks, help strengthen the value of fisheries to the economy, our communities, and marine ecosystems and provide a long-term supply of seafood for the nation. OSF manages Atlantic highly migratory species, provides support to the regional fishery management councils, works with federal partners to ensure the safety of seafood sold in the United States, and supports national domestic policy issues.
